A Grady White Restoration Project
Zach and the crew at Wicked Outboards recently embarked on a project to restore and refit a 2006 Grady-White 275 that had seen her better days. Restoring and refitting a boat is a perfect way to modernize your existing boat without having to invest in a new watercraft. In this case, our client wanted the works! Grady Whites are one of the most renowned saltwater boats in the world, so we wanted to make sure we refinished it in a way that lived up to the stellar reputation of the brand. With a full interior and exterior transformation, we are confident we succeeded.
Our client knew the benefits of adding a ceramic coating to this boat. Not only does it add an extra level of protection from the harsh marine environment, but it decreases cleanup time and provides a diamond finish that rivals that of a brand new boat.
These days, you can get overwhelmed with the options for paint colors. While many opt for a traditional white hue, our client chose to go with a Ghost Gray. We thought this was an awesome option. Many boat owners falsely believe that a white hull is easier to maintain than a darker hull, but we know for a fact that whether you have a dark hull or a light hull, they need the same amount of time, maintenance, and attention.
No matter the color, the advancements in paint technology these days are astounding. It’s 2022, and marine-grade paints are tough, high-tech, and complex-regardless of the color. They are built to withstand anything that the water throws their way. At Wicked Outboards, we use the most premium paints to protect your watercraft so you can rest assured that your boat will be protected from any scuffs and scratches, no matter the hue of the hull. The Ghost Gray that we outfitted this Grady White in was a perfect choice to highlight the lines of the watercraft. Once we painted the motors to match, it was a complete head-turner.
Once the interior and exterior of the watercraft had a sleek new paint job, all-over premium ceramic coating, and was polished and shined like new–it was time to focus on the accessories in the interior of the boat. Our client wanted a complete dual console refit, and we delivered. What an upgrade for a 2006 model! This Grady White was due for a complete refit, and we were thrilled to get her looking better than she’s ever looked.
This summer, our client will be riding in style and turning heads with this incredible interior and exterior makeover. If you are interested in tricking out your boat or motors with custom colors, a ceramic coating, or need any refits, let our team at Wicked Outboards help you out. We offer premium services to get your watercraft looking better than new.
